Born in 1991 in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, to a loving family and a idyllic suburban home. The 90' marked an era of eclosion for Science Fiction in media, and my earliest memories where of my little childish mind being blown away by fantastic movies and videogames that offered an alternative world beyond of what i understood at that age, as a mundane, normal life. My family was of Catholic descent, but didn't practice religion, so Sega Genesis and PSX became my church, and I attended with devotion, absorbing the Sci-Fi aesthetic and fast heavy metal music that would leave an imprint and blueprint for the rest of my life. The album artworks of Playstation games where hypnotic to me, maybe even more than the games themselves, and the same thing with movies. Youngsters may have heard of a mythological place called "Blockbuster" where movies were rented. Back then, all you had to make your choice, was the artwork in the box, and the best artworks, belonged to horror movies and Science Fiction flicks, so naturally, i gravitated to those genres, that had the best illustrations, and an element of the forbidden.
Without knowing it, at that young age, I discovered the influences that would lead to my artistic vision. I remember discovering 3 artists that showed me something that ive never seen, something i could barely comprehend, something so much different than the illustrated children books at the school library, something forboding, something alien and forbidden, but that yet seemed so familiar : HR Giger, Salvador Dali, and Zdzislaw Beksinski. Those 3 artists to this day inspire me to become better, to push harder, and to try to capture a glimpse, of dimensions hidden to our eye.
During my teenage years, I discovered punk rock and heavy metal, and submerged myself into this world of fast tempos, and absolutely epic and shocking album covers. I began to play drums, to channel all that kinetic teenage energy, and slowly but surely, started to progress. I became obsessed, and began practicing hours upon hours, and that progress grew exponentially. At this point, visual arts did not have a large part in my life, I tried to draw when I was younger, but my lack of skills discouraged me from really learning, but that fire was still deep inside me.
After high school, I got into university and that is when my love for visual art reignited. I became a self taught enthusiast, and began to learn the basics of drawing and draftsmanship. I was able to learn very quickly, and destined all of my free time to get better.
Thanks to this, I began to get contacted by heavy metal bands, that were interested in my surreal, nightmarish landscapes. I also began receiving tons of messages of people that really felt touched by what I was creating. This fueled even more my interest and strengthen my will and resolve of really pursuing illustration, and with time, I was able to create artworks that were beyond what I thought was possible for me. Opportunities opened, and I was able to work with several bands all over the world, including discographic companies, book authors and publishers, and private clients.
Surreal and Fantasy Art is my passion, and I hope that passion can be felt through this site and through my body of work. I would love to stay and keep chatting, but I really should get back to work. Creating is much more fun than talking about yourself!
